Happy New Year! A warm welcome to a fresh new year where we are motivated to achieve our best.

As we welcome yet another year, we’re setting some goals to kick-start our health, wellness and personal growth. We hope these inspire you to do the same.

Our main goals for the year are:

  1. Practice mindfulness and meditation regularly to improve your mental health.

  2. Explore sustainable options for everyday living.

  3. Seek out new opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Now, let's dive into goals a bit more.

1. Practice mindfulness and meditation

Mindfulness and meditation practices

Practice mindfulness and meditation regularly to improve our mental health and overall well-being. Meditation has benefits galore! Several studies have proven that meditation can help with mental health as well as physical health. Meditation has the ability to reduce stress, anxiety, depression, anger and much more [1]. Whatever it is you are struggling with, we at Active by GS have put together a few tips to make meditation a habit + the right way of meditating. Read more about how to practice meditattion here.

Last year, we practised slow living. Slow living is the art of finding peace and balance in your life. It's a way of looking at the world with a calm, clear gaze that considers every aspect of your being—physical, mental, emotional, spiritual—and ensures they're all working together in harmony.

Slow living is about finding purpose and meaning in everyday actions and making decisions based on what's best for everyone involved instead of just yourself. Check out our blog post on slow living if you’d like to read more about this.

2. Sustainable Options

Living a sustainable life

Be more sustainable where we can be. Think about 'reduce, recycle & reuse' when making choices. By making small changes in your daily life, you can help to protect the environment and promote sustainability. 3. Seek out new opportunities for personal and professional growth

Seeking new opportunities for personal and professional growth

It's important to continuously strive for personal and professional growth in order to stay engaged and motivated in your life. This can involve setting goals for yourself and working towards them, taking on new challenges and learning new skills, or seeking out new experiences.

You might also consider seeking new growth opportunities by joining a club or organisation, pursuing education or training, or networking with others in your field. By continuously seeking out opportunities for growth, you can stay engaged and motivated, and continue to develop and evolve as a person. But, whatever we say, motivation is the key.Read more about the keys to motivation here.

And with that, we hope we've inspired you to set some goals.

Setting goals at the start of the year can be a helpful way to focus your efforts and plan for the future. It can also help you stay motivated and on track throughout the year. It’s important to set goals as they can give you a sense of purpose and direction, and help you make progress towards achieving what you want in life.

In addition to this, setting goals at the start of the year can be a way to reflect on the past and consider what you want to change or accomplish in the coming year. It can be a time to set new goals or revisit old ones, and to think about how you can make progress in different areas of your life, such as your career, relationships, health, or personal development.

We see goal setting as an incredibly valuable way to help you achieve your aspirations and live a fulfilling life. We hope we’ve inspired you in setting some goals for the New Year. We wish you a warm and happy New Year and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for both us and you.
